The National Mental Health Commission’s National Report Card 2025 highlights both progress and opportunity for Australia’s mental health system. Report Card 2025 shows that people experiencing mental health challenges continued to face lower life satisfaction and disproportionate experiences of loneliness, discrimination and financial stress than the broader population. While there has been more investment in mental health services and more people are using available support, the benefits are not being shared equally across the community.

Mental Health Australia was pleased to work with the Commission in 2025-26 to explore opportunities to improve representation of non-government (NGO) services in the National Report Card. The resulting NGO Data Report is available here.
