Mental Health Month 2026
Mental Health Australia’s 2026 theme for Mental Health Month in October is 'Together we Thrive'.
Mental Health Month is in October, and World Mental Health Day is celebrated on 10 October.
Mental Health Australia coordinates the national Mental Health Month and World Mental Health Day campaign, bringing Australians together each year to raise awareness of mental health, reduce stigma, and encourage people to seek support when they need it.
This year’s theme, Together, We Thrive, recognises that while life can often feel overwhelming, connection remains one of the most powerful ways to support our mental health and wellbeing.
Right now, life feels like a lot.
Global conflict and uncertainty, rising costs and constant change are leaving many people feeling overwhelmed and disconnected.
For many of us, it's feeling harder to find common ground or stay connected to what we share. And it’s taking a toll on our mental health.
At our core, our needs remain the same – to feel safe, to feel understood and to know we matter.
When we come together – through small, everyday moments of care, kindness, conversation and connection – we can help each other to truly thrive.
This October, we encourage everyone to get involved by starting conversations, challenging stigma, and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of those around them.
Each year, we provide a range of digital assets, resources, and tools to support activities, events, and social media promotion.
We'll soon be releasing this year's campaign resources and materials. Check back regularly as we update this page with everything you need to take part and help spread the message.
